Microsoft Leaks An iPad Touch Cover

Apparently Microsoft has been developing a Touch Cover for the iPad. We know this because Microsoft appears to have leaked it on its own.

The company let slip that it’s developing a version of its popular Touch Cover for the iPad, which as we all know is one of the most popular and best-selling tablets on the market.

The leak comes from Microsoft itself. The company has listed a new “iPad Touch Cover (Model 1719)” in a download page for documens about Lithium batteries. Microsoft posted these documents back in April of this year. Since it has been a while since the documents were originally published, we don’t know when Microsoft is planning to release this Touch Cover for the iPad. It is not in a hurry I guess.

We don’t know much about this accessory other than that it has a battery so it’s likely going to connect to the iPad using Bluetooth.

It does make sense for Microsoft to launch a version of its Surface Touch Cover for the iPad, since Apple doesn’t sell its own smart keyboard for the iPad. Microsoft hasn’t commented on this as yet, so we will have to wait and see what happens here.
